President John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to equitable national development, assuring that no part of Ghana will be left behind. In a message to mark Eid al-Fitr on Friday, March 20, 2026, the President stated that government is working to ensure development reaches every corner of the country.

“We keep making sure development reaches every part of the country. Government cannot do it alone; we need a partnership,” he said.

He called on citizens to support national development efforts, stressing that collaboration between government and the people is essential to achieving meaningful progress.

President Mahama also highlighted Ghana’s long-standing reputation for peaceful coexistence, noting that the country continues to serve as a model of unity despite its religious and cultural diversity.

“Ghana continues to be a shining example of peaceful coexistence. We participate in each other’s ceremonies and coexist as one people,” he stated.

He urged Ghanaians to safeguard the country’s peace and reject division, describing national harmony as a valuable asset that must be protected.

“This harmony is a precious gift, and we must protect it. Let us reject anything that divides us,” he added.

Touching on global issues, the President expressed concern over the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and called for peace, urging leaders to work towards ending the war.

He concluded by encouraging unity, tolerance and collective responsibility in building a stronger and more inclusive Ghana.
