President Akufo-Addo has given assurance of tight security at the country’s borders in the wake of suspected terrorist activities near the frontiers.

The measures include increasing the number of security personnel at the borders and providing them with the needed logistics to execute their mandate.

This is the only way to deal with other threats such as bandits operating in Burkina Faso. The President said the fight against terrorism cannot be won overnight.

President Akufo-Addo said this on GBC URA RADIO in Bolgatanga during a working visit to the Upper East Region.

The President during his interaction on GBC-URA Radio said his government in collaboration with the country’s security agencies are putting innovative measures in place to protect citizens of the country against any terrorist attack.

He charged citizens to be law-abiding and cooperate effectively with the security agencies by providing them the necessary  information to deal with issues of crime in the country.

President Akufo-Addo is in the region with the Minister for the interior, Ambrose Dery, Minister for Defense, Dominic Nitiwul, Deputy minister for Works and housing, Abdulai Abanga among others.
