The Convenor of CSO platform on SDG Goal 10, George Osei Bimpeh, has asked government to ensure equity in public spending.
Mr. Bimpeh indicated that in 2017, 42 percent of government revenue was allocated for debt servicing to the neglect of essential sectors such as health and education.
Speaking at a news conference in Accra, Mr. Bimpeh cited a research report by Send Ghana which revealed that in the health sector for instance, about seventy percent of CHIPS compounds do not have basic clinical gadgets like torchlights and cooling systems.
The news conference is part of activities by CSO’S on SDGS marking Global Week action on ending inequalities.
