A government delegation led by the Minister of National Security, Albert Kan-Dapaah, Wednesday held a meeting with the Diplomatic Community on safety measures being undertaken to safeguard lives and property in the country.

The delegation briefed the diplomats on the successful national security operation that led to the rescue of the two kidnapped Canadian women and the arrest of the suspects.

The government also assured the diplomatic community about the preparedness of the security agencies to deal with all kinds of crime in the country.

A statement issued and signed by the Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah on Wednesday announced the successful rescue of the two Canadian women in the Ashanti Region by the National Security Operatives.

The statement encouraged the media and commentators to be circumspect in public commentary on security matters in order not to compromise other related operations.
