Ghana’s Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has on behalf of President Nana Addo Dankwa kufo-Addo and the people of Ghana, conferred special awards on 39 former Career Diplomats at a special ceremony Accra. on Thursday, December 20, 2018.

Twenty-Four, (24) of these distinguished diplomats have passed on, and were represented at the event by their families.

The award was in recognition of their invaluable service to the nation.

Describing them as truly role models for generation and generations to come, Dr. Bawumia said some of the Ambassadors served Ghana in various capacities, including as Ministers and Deputy Ministers of State, Secretary to Cabinet and Chief Directors, among others.

“Our heartfelt gratitude goes to all of them for their dedication and support in promoting our foreign policy objectives for decades. We are truly proud of you.” Vice President Bawumia has said.
