Government recently launched the Planting for Export programme and the five cash crops selected are being given out to interested farmers in the districts for planting. They are rubber, coffee, oil palm, coconut and shea.
Press Secretary to the sector Minister Issah Alhassan told GBC’s George Ankrah that District Chief Executives have been directed to be in-charge of the programme.
He also reacted to some cocoa farmers in the Eastern Region who alleged that COCOBOD is cutting down their trees for rubber planting and how the Ministry has handled the issue.
