Gov’t lauded for establishing authority to boost tree crops industry

The Executive Director of GIZ/ComCashew, Rita Weidinger has commended the Government of Ghana for its commitment towards the development of a tree crop Authority for crops like Cashew.

According to her it normally takes about five years to put such an Authority together so the progress made in the last two years is remarkable.

She was also hopeful that within a year of the Tree Crop Authority becoming operational, farmers and other stakeholders along the Cashew Value Chain will feel it’s positive impact.

Mrs. Weidinger was speaking to GBC’s Radio Ghana at the opening session of the 8th edition of the Master Training Programme to promote the Cashew Value Chain in Sunyani in the Bono Region.
