Three paramountcies Akyem State, Abuakwa, Kotoku and Bosome have given the Former President John Mahama one week to withdraw and apologise to Akyems for the “Akyem Sakawa Boys” tag.

According to the chiefs and people who gathered to demonstrate at Asamankese today, ethnocentric statements from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its leaders have a tendency to plunge the nation into chaos if not condemned.

Natives of Akyem Abuakwa Traditional area are demonstrating against former President John Mahama for his “Akyem Sakawa Boys” comments in reference to the Agyapa Deal.

The demonstration, which brought together some chiefs and parliamentary candidates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), was organized by a group called Concerned Citizens of Okyeman.

The demonstrators feel the action by the former leader is distasteful and encourages tribal politicking.

Convenor of the group, Archibald Ntiri-Acquah wants the former president to retract the support  he gave to the said article and rather focus on issue-based campaigns.

Below is what the Former President shared on his Facebook page
