High Court rescinds bench warrant for ex MASLOC manager

An Accra high Court Presided over by Justice Afia Serwaah Asare Botwe has rescinded a Bench Warrant issued for the arrest of the second accused person, who is a former Operations Manager of  MASLOC, Daniel Axim.

He was also cautioned by the court not to ever absent himself in criminal matter and had his earlier bail conditions varied to include reporting to the Bureau of National Investigations, (BNI) every Friday.

In a case involving him and the former Chief Executive Officer of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), Sedina Christine Tamakloe Attionu, Mr. Axim has not been reporting to court for the past two sittings, a development, that made the court issue a warrant for his arrest.

Mr. Axim was present by himself, meaning the arrest warrant was not executed.

His lawyer, Augustines Obour apologised to the court over his cleint absence to the court.

They have been charged by the State with eighty (80) counts of Stealing, Causing Financial Loss to the State, Causing Loss to Public Property, Improper Payment of Public Funds, Unauthorised Commitment Resulting in Financial Obligation for the Government, Money Laundering and Contravention of the Public Procurement Act.

The Case has been adjourned to October 8, 2019.
