Husband of alleged Takoradi Pregnant Woman in shock as she confesses to faking Pregnancy & Kidnap

The 28-year-old Takoradi Woman, Josephine Panyin Mensah Simons, who is at the centre of a Pregnancy and Kidnapping controversy has reportedly confessed to a team of medical and investigation officers attending to her at the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital in the Western Region that she was not pregnant, neither was she kidnapped.

This is according to a Police Statement which said more information would be provided later.

Meanwhile, sources in Takoradi said Josephine who made the confession amidst uncontrollable tears has asked for forgiveness from her husband Michael Simons who appeared to be innocent and in a state of shock. Also, the Spouse of Josephine and mother who were initially assisting the Police in the case have been released.

Josephine is reported to have been moved from the hospital to the Central Police Station, in Police custody.

Furthermore, the Simons family house is reported to have been deserted with all members having gone to the Police station in relation to Josephine’s confession. The news had also rocked the very core of the People in Takoradi who had vehemently stood behind the alleged pregnant woman and had chastised the Police after its initial release indicated that Josephine Simons was never pregnant.

Josephine won the hearts of many when her picture surfaced on social media as a missing 9-month-old Pregnant woman. Soon after Josephine was found by a stranger in Axim, but rather strangely without the baby triggering a series of allegations and counter allegations among the parties in the case.

Reports indicate that Josephine confessed to faking the pregnancy, after a 3rd Medical Examination, concluded that she has been declared not pregnant.
