IGP pays working visit to Bono East Region

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) James Oppong-Boanuh has paid a working visit to Yeji and Busunya in the Bono East Region to assess the situation after some members of the community attacked the Yeji and Busunya Police stations.

A statement issued by the Police Public Affairs Directorate says during the visit, the IGP held meetings with the chiefs and people.

The statement noted that the IGP in both meetings expressed displeasure at the attacks and vandalization of the Busunya Police station and two Police vehicles at Yeji.

He warned that the Police Administration will not tolerate any attack on Police officers or its property, urging the chiefs to educate the youth to nib such activities in the bud.

Meanwhile, the IGP James Oppong-Boanuh has announced that the Yeji District Police station has been elevated to a Divisional status.

This means more personnel would be posted to Yeji to help strengthen the staff situation.
