Deafening firework display during 31st Night has become an annual affair in Zango Communities in Ghana.

Most people welcome the New Year in Churches and with families, while in the Zongo Communities the youth engage in fireworks.

To ensure that the youth in the Zongos celebrate the 31st night in moderation, Imam of Makas, at the Imam Bakir Mosque at Nima, Sheikh Sulaiman Ahmad Naadi, has advised the youth in Zongo Communities to refrain from indulging in firework display that creates deafening noise in the Communities. Instead, they must channel their energies into productive ventures.
