Individuals, Institutions recognized for meritorious service at National Honours and Awards 2023

A number of Ghanaians and institutions have been awarded for distinguished service to the state. They include over nineteen Thousand Health Workers who dedicated their lives in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

The President also presented awards to members of the COVID-19 Trust Fund, COVID-19 Private Sector Fund, individuals and Faith-Based Organizations.

The ceremony which took place at the Accra International Conference Centre, also saw the Legal Team that defended Ghana’s case before the International Tribunal for the Laws of the Sea and their Legal Advisors being awarded.

Some were awarded Certificates and plaques while others received, Companion of the Order of the Volta.

Godfred Dame, Joe Ghartey, Gloria Akuffo, H. Kwesi Prempeh, Anthony Akoto Ampaw, Professor Akwasi Osei are some of the prominent personalities who received the Order of the Volta, Companion Awards.

Others are Dr Veronica Agatha Matinson, Anthony Oteng Gyasi, Senyo Hosi, Kwasi Twum and Veronica Bekoe, designer of the Veronica Bucket
