The Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has donated a public address system to the Gbewa Palace in Yendi in the Northern region.

The gesture is in fulfillment of a promise made by the minister when he visited the palace sometime last year.

The donation of the item is to support the palace to disseminate information to the people and beyond. The Director of Finance and Administration at the Information Ministry, Mrs Patricia Dovi Samson who made the presentation said information is vital and therefore it must be disseminated in an easy and convenient way to reach a target audience.

Last year November 16, the Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, visited Ya-Na at the Gbewaa Palace where he pledged to support the Palace with a public address system to facilitate work at the Palace.

The public address system comprised two speakers (internal digital mixer), a wireless combo system, control devices amongst other vital equipment for high-quality sound dissemination.

Mrs Samson who presented the item on behalf of the minister said it is to redeem the pledge made by the minister. She was optimistic that it would be used effectively.
The Overlord of Dagbon, Ya Na Abukari Mahama, thanked the minister for the kind gesture. He said the item has come at the right time when the palace is preparing to receive the President on Friday 06 July, 2021.

He said the PA system will help to send out information to the general public.
