The Metropolitan Catholic Archbishop of Accra, Most Rev. Bonaventure Kwofie says true Christians go through mockery, disappointments and physical pain as Jesus Christ did.

He said Jesus Christ suffered intensive physical pain including lashes, so Christians should be prepared to face harsh and hard times.

The Archbishop said this at the Holy Spirit Cathedral as part of the Easter festivities.

He said Christ suffered and died for the salvation of mankind and therefore Christians should deny themselves earthly pleasures to follow Him.

Most Rev. Kwofie advised Christians not to let their personal aspirations, interests, power and desire glue them to earthly satisfaction but submit to the word of God.

Most. Rev. Kwofie together with Priests and the congregation prayed for Pope Francis and God who chose him to keep him safe and unharmed to govern his “holy people”, and for leaders of the Church nationwide.
