Jospong Group praises President Akufo-Addo

The Executive Chairman of the Jospong Group of Companies (JGC), Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong, has commended President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for making the Clean Ghana Agenda a priority in his administration.

He said three clear things that made him convinced that the President was committed to the clean Ghana agenda were the establishment of the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources (MoS&WR) to shape up contemporary cutting edge policies to guide players in the industry.

“Also the President’s visit to key sanitation facilities including; the Accra Compost and Recycling Plant where he urged Zoomlion to remain resolute in spite of the controversies on his core mandate of ensuring a cleaner Ghana and the statement he made at Parliament indicating his commitment to the Clean Accra agenda”.

Dr. Agyepong made the commendation when he addressed leaders of the Jospong Group and some dignitaries at the 2019 Jospong Leadership Conference at Gomoa-Fette in the Central Region.

This year’s conference was on the theme: “Transform to better perform.”

He further commended Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for the encouragement and support given to the President.

Dr. Agyepong said President Akufo-Addo had pledged to Professor Mike Aaron Oquaye, the Speaker of Parliament, Members of Parliament and Ghanaians that his first term of office will ensure that Accra is the neatest and cleanest city in Africa.

“The commitment we are making and which I want you all to make with me is that by the time we end our four-year term, Accra is going to be the cleanest city in Africa. We are in danger of destroying our blessed country. Ours is a beautiful country. If we claim to love our country, we must take care of the lands, the trees, the water bodies and the animals. They are part of what makes Ghana,” he quoted President Akufo-Addo as saying.

He said each time the words of encouragement by President Akufo-Addo, Vice President Dr Bawumia echoed together with that of Otumfuo Osei Tutu, the Asantehene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori-Panyin, the Okyehene, and Former President Jerry John Rawlings, my spirit is rekindled to even do better.

“There are many statesmen and elders of this country who continuously guide and encourage me to work harder for mother Ghana”.

The Executive Chairman expressed gratitude to the Ministers of Local Government and Rural Development, Hajia Alima Mahama and Madam Cecilia Abena Dapaah, Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources and their deputies and staff for their cooperation and support for the sanitation agenda to succeed.

He urged his executives to ensure a better performance in 2019, to transform the sector, asking, “How can you fail when you have people at the top who believe you can do it.”

Dr. Agyepong also thanked the Chairman of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Kwabena Nyamekye and the Executive Council of the Church for incorporating environmental care into their five-year development plan.
