JUSAG happy with newly approved salary structure

By Beatrice Oppon

The Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana, JUSAG, has applauded President Akufo-Addo for approving the new salary structure for members scheduled to be implemented this month.

Last May 24, 2023, the Association embarked on a nationwide strike over the government’s failure to approve new salaries and pay outstanding arrears due staff.

Staff of the Judicial Service said with their decision to suspend the strike and engage with the relevant officials they are hopeful that the government will ensure incident-free implementation of the approved salaries as agreed on.

In a statement, President of JUSAG Samuel Afotey Otu said the National Executive Council of JUSAG is grateful to the Chief Justice for her immense contribution to the realisation of that feat.

Mr Afotey said her ingenuity and exceptional leadership, with the support of other stakeholders, led to the successful conclusion on engagements with the government last month.

He used the opportunity to congratulate Chief Justice Torkornoo on her assumption into office and promised to work with her to rebrand the Judicial Service and build upon the successes chalked up by the Judiciary.
