Work on a Landing beach in Keta is expected to commence in November, following a visit by a high powered delegation from the Ministry of Transport and officials from the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA).

The delegation led by the Sector Minister, Kwaku Ofori Asiamah and his Deputy, Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover was on a working visit to the demarcated site for the Keta Landing Site and Fishing Harbour.

China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC), is the project execution firm.

The MCE for the Municipality, Godwin Edudzi Effah after the visit to the site expressed hope that stakeholder engagements would be completed shortly to pave the way for the commencement of the project.

We are hopeful that by November, stakeholder engagements with traditional authorities, fisherfolks, chief fishermen, opinion leaders, fishmongers and market women will be concluded to make way for sod cutting and commencement of work on the Landing Site and Fishing Harbour,” Mr Effah said.

The MCE further indicated that the New Patriotic Party, (NPP) administration is committed to “actualizing its 2016 manifesto promise of building a modern Landing Site and Fishing Habour for the people of Keta Municipality”.

Mr. Effah also said he remains committed to the vision of Nana Addo in delivering on all campaign promises made to the people of Keta saying “Jobs are coming for the progress of Keta”.
