Justice Anthony Abada Rtd, a former High Court Judge has promised to construct a multipurpose community centre for the Dzoanti community in the Kpando Municipality of the Volta Region.
He pledged an amount of GHC100,000.00 from his pension towards the project to be sited on a five acre land he donated to the community.
Addressing a meeting of the Fosi Clan at Dzoanti, Justice Abada said the centre would provide a better meeting place for the community, and would help enhance the involvement of community members in developmental initiatives.
He said the centre would hold a skills training unit to support the many unemployed youth in the community with both soft and hard skills, and would also host an ICT hub, and a library among others.
Justice Abada said the initiative formed part of his efforts towards the progress of the community, noting that it was time to bring the community together, and chart out paths to its prosperity.
He further promised to support stakeholders in providing environmentally friendly toilet facilities for the area.
Justice Abada called on leaders of the community to invest more efforts into its advancement, and appealed to the youth to consider education as the launch pad to their success in life.
