At the GPRTU Neoplan VIP Station at Asafo, the Station Master, Alhaji Ibrahim Attakora said the 15 % increment in fares was necessary to help them stay in business after frequent increases in the prices of petroleum products and spare parts. He noted, however, that the station had not witnessed any agitation from the travelling public since the Transport fare increase took effect last Saturday.

At the Kumasi-Enchi Station at the Afua Kobi Market, also at Asafo, the Gen Sec. of the Ghana Road Transport Coordinating Council, Mr. Patrick Antwi Boasiako told GBCNEWS that passengers have not complained about the increment in transport fares.

Some passengers however complained about the fares describing it as unfair.
