The Technical Director for the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, Surveyor Maxwell Adu-Nsafoa has said single Land ownership is not possible in Ghana.

Adu-Nsafoa in an exclusive interview on GBC’s Uniiq Breakfast Drive today Monday 5th December 2022 explained the impossibility is due to political ramifications. He advocates for a diplomatic means of curbing land issues whenever they arise.

Adu Nsafoa made this statement on the call on the government to consider single Land ownership as some say will end Land problems being posed by traditional Land ownership once and for all.

“It will be difficult for now, for some jurisdictions like East Africa they’ve been able to do it but for our part of the world I see it to be of a big challenge and I don’t think any Government will like to consider that due to its political ramifications”, Adu Nsafoa said.

Adu Nsafoa on the same show announced the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources will hold a National Land Conference under the theme, Leveraging National Land Policy, Legislation & Institutional Capacity towards Sustainable Socio-economic Development.

The Conference is set for 6th-9th Dec. 2022 at Accra International Conference Center (AICC).
