The Ghana Medical Association (GMA), has welcomed President Akufo-Addo’s assurance that government will soon state its position on a lockdown.
Speaking to GBC’s Radio Ghana, General Secretary of the GMA, Dr. Justice Yankson said it is heartwarming to know that the President is putting careful thought into his decision.
At the Jubilee House when leadership of the TUC called on him, President Akufo-Addo said the consequences of the lockdown must be looked at before a decision is made. He said sooner than later governments position on the lockdown will be known.
While commending the government, Dr. Yankson said time is of essence and the earlier the lockdown is announced the better, it will be for health professionals to contain the increasing cases of Covid-19.
