A middle-aged woman is feared dead after a KIA truck knocked her down at Fire Stone on the Madina–Adenta Highway.

This comes barely 72 hours since the death of a 33-year-old woman on the same highway at Adenta SDA Junction.

Eyewitnesses say, they live in fear of being knocked down any time on the highway due to the absence of footbridges to ensure safe movement of pedestrians from one side to the other.

The situation is worsened by the non-existence of functioning street lights along the highway, making visibility difficult at night.

More than 190 deaths have reportedly occurred on the highway as pedestrians are forced to compete with speeding drivers to be able to cross to the other side of the road.
