Markets in Tamale to be disinfected today

About one hundred and nine markets, public spaces and some public Institutions in the Northern Region will be disinfected today (April 2).

The disinfection which is a collaboration between waste management company, Zoom Lion and the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development forms part of a nationwide effort to combat coronavirus.

Addressing the media in Tamale, the Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Saed appealed to the public to support the exercise and keep their stores closed.

Mr. Salifu Saed, emphasized that the disinfection exercise is meant to kill bacteria and influenza causing microbes including coronavirus.

A special assistant to the CEO of Zoom Lion LTD Barima Nana Sarkodie, explained that, though the chemical is not harmful to humans, shops, and offices that will be sprayed should remain closed until tomorrow (Friday, April 3).
