Four robbers suspected to be Fulanis attacked Metro Mass Transit bus travelling from Tamale to Tatale in the Tatale /Sanguli District of the Northern Region.
According to the driver Afa Mohammed Seidu, during the weekend at about 10:00pm the armed men attacked the bus on the Yendi – Zabzugu, Tatale Road about 8km from the Yendi township and collected all monies and mobile phones of the passengers.
He said they shot at him on the jaw and that forced him to stop because he was bleeding profusely.
Afa Seidu, who is now on admission at the Yendi Municipal hospital, said they raped one of the passengers who is also on admission at the hospital emergency ward.
He said before the police from Yendi arrived the robbers had left.
