The Eastern Regional Minister, Eric Kwakye Darfour, has underscored the importance of CHPS compounds in the country’s healthcare delivery system.

He said they provide essential access to comprehensive health care in under served communities.

Mr. Darfour said this when outdooring a CHPS compound at Pabi, a community in the West Akim Municipality of the Eastern Region.

He said the facility is in fulfillment of the campaign promises of President Akufo-Addo in 2016. Mr. Darfour noted that it also benefits communities immensely by reducing the cost and travel time spent when seeking medical attention from distant facilities.

He said with the provision of such facilities the country will be getting closer to achieving the sustainable Development Goal three of ensuring healthy lives and promoting the wellbeing of all.

The Chief of Pabi, Baffour Asare Pabi, commended the assembly and the MP for the project because it will go a long way to promote healthcare delivery and education in the community. Members of the community provided office tables, sanitation equipment and plastic chairs to aid the work of the health personnel of the facility.
