Management of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has held a two-day strategic retreat in Accra to review the Ministry’s performance in 2025 and outline its collective agenda for 2026.
The retreat, which took place over the weekend at the Ministry, provided an opportunity for senior officials to assess progress made over the past year and align strategies toward achieving set targets for the coming year.

In a Facebook post, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, described the retreat as “most fulfilling and strategic,” noting that the time spent reviewing policies and plans over Saturday and Sunday was well utilised.
According to the Minister, the Ministry’s leadership is confident of meeting its ambitious targets for 2026, following the outcomes of the discussions and planning sessions held during the retreat.
Mr Ablakwa reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to serving Ghanaians better in the year ahead, stressing the importance of closer and smarter collaboration with Ghana’s international partners.
He said these efforts are aimed at advancing Ghana’s national interest and strengthening the country’s diplomatic engagements globally.
