The issue of unemployment has in the past few years attained global appeal especially during the pandemic as the count on job losses keeps increasing. This means that countries will have to collaborate with each other to curb the menace of unemployment especially among the youth. It is for this reason that Ghana and Germany have joined forces to create a platform where citizens from both countries are trained and prepared for employment in both countries.

This was made known when the Deputy Prime Minister for North-Rhine Westphalia State in Germany HE Dr. Joachim Stamp paid a courtesy call on the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong in Accra.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong said,

“Ghana has been fascinated by the German module on how you train your youth with emphasis on technical skills. Our President is so fascinated that he is adopting the German Module and that is what he wants to introduce in our educational systems”.

He went on to say that “We are introducing it even at the secondary level that puts emphasis on skills training so that by the time they get to adulthood, at least they would have learnt a skill that will make them employable”.

“There are a lot of Ghanaians who have aspirations of travelling to Europe and with such opportunities where your State wants to help train some Ghanaians then maybe later consider some contractual arrangements to offer them employments in Germany it is welcome

He was full of praise to the German government for its numerous support in the various areas of development

“I would like to express our appreciation for the assistance to Ghana over the years, more especially we know in the coming years Westphalia will be a partner to us”.
