More support as Vice President visits Chef Failatu at Cook-A-Thon Day 6 in Tamale

By Joyce Kantam Kolamong

Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has paid a surprised visit to Chef Failatu at Cook-A-Thon Day 6 to encourage and offer his support and that of the presidency to her.

Dr Bawumia was highly impressed about the endurance skills of the Chef who has extended her cooking hours to 200 hours which is expected to end on 10th January.

He said the Cook-A-Thon is putting Ghana in the Global scene and will boost the tourism sector of the country particularly Tamale.

Dr. Bawumia said considering all the various attempts in the Guinea World Record that Ghanaians want to try out, it will be an opportunity to grab it within the tourism framework and market the country internationally.

He said all these attempts will make the world wonder why the spotlight is on Ghana and that in itself is a good thing. He encouraged and was optimistic Chef Failatu will break the record.

Chef Failatu’s original plan was to cook for five days but that changed after a Ugandan woman attempting the same record cooked for 144 hours in Six days – the attempt is yet to be officially confirmed by the GWR.
