The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco, Her Excellency, Imane Ouaadil has disclosed that her office is in talks with the government to establish a fertilizer plant in Ghana.

According to her, the joint project may be ranked as having a high level of success because both countries are rich in resources needed for the production of fertilizer.
“Ghana has natural gas, we have phosphate so we make fertilizer anytime,” she said.

Speaking on the GTV Breakfast show, Her Excellency Imane Ouaadil added that the project will also help address the food security challenges confronting the Africa continent.
“The war in Russia and Ukraine has taught us that sometimes, we need to rely more on ourselves instead of depending on someone” she stated.

Morocco has been a key partner to Ghana as far back as 1960s, and relationship between the two countries cuts across trade and agriculture, among others.
The Ambassador revealed that Morocco has signed 27 agreements of cooperation with Ghana and her office awards scholarships to over 90 Ghanaian students annually to study in Morocco.
