Elizabeth Amoaa, a Ghanaian Reproductive Health Advocate born with an unusual condition of having 2 Vagina canals, 2 Cervixes as well as 2 wombs has stated in an interview that her husband does not choose which vagina canal to penetrate during sexual intercourse.
She explained this during a sit-down conversation with Kafui Dey, co-host of the GTV Breakfast show on Friday 8th October 2021.
Uterus didelphys is a rare condition that occurs mostly when one grows two uteruses instead of one. This mostly happens when one is born with it and develops into an adult.
According to Elizabeth, in 2015, she was diagnosed with this condition in Germany. One question that bothers a lot of minds is the fact that her husband may either have choices or preferences during sexual intercourse but she explained that “you obviously do not choose when you’re having sex because one of the vagina canal is always narrow than the other and same positions might be painful during sex”.
Again, she added that she enjoys having sex with her husband aside she having other reproductive health issues, like fibroid and also being in her period for over four to eight weeks continuous some times.
Elizabeth Amoaa concluded by stating that her husband was glad when he learnt she had two vaginas canals, two cervixes and two wombs because it explained the symptoms she once had and he has been supportive of her. She has a beautiful daughter and sees her condition more of a blessing than a curse; the reason she chose to share her story with the world.
She further advised young women going through same situation or something close to hers to openly speak to someone about it and seek medical help early before it gets complicated.
Elizabeth Amoaa has established a foundation dubbed “Speciallady awareness” which was born out of the medical challenges she faced during a long episode of uncertain health. Her aim is to provide consultations, workshops, seminars, donations to educate and encourage women and young girls to seek early diagnosis and appropriate medical care for their symptoms of gynaecological conditions. The GTV Breakfast show is a live production of GBC, the National Broadcaster, that airs Monday to Friday, from 6AM.
