National Security has with immediate effect interdicted an Officer of the Bureau of National Communications, Gerard Nana Osei-Tutu who reportedly assaulted one Warrant Officer Mashud Salia on November 25, 2020.
A Statement issued by the Ministry for Information, signed by the Sector Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, said the interdiction was in line with President Akufo-Addo’s directive.
National Security has commenced a full investigation into the incident.
The statement added, that the Military constitutes a key player in the country’s security architecture, hence any infringement on the institution and its officers will not be tolerated.
The Military High Command has also condemned the incidence.
