The National Service Authority (NSA) has announced a complete transition to a cashless payment system as part of the government’s efforts to modernise revenue collection.
Under the new directive, all payments, including administrative service charges of 20% and 10%, must now be processed exclusively through the GHANA.GOV platform. The move is aimed at improving transparency, efficiency, and accessibility for stakeholders.
Payments can now be made at any time via the official website www.ghana.gov.gh or by dialing *222# on any mobile network.
Transactions can also be initiated through personnel dashboards or via invoices emailed to finance representatives of user agencies. The platform supports multiple payment options, including debit and credit card transactions, mobile money services, internet banking, banking apps, QR code payments, direct account transfers, as well as SWIFT and ACH transfers for international transactions.
Effective immediately, manual payments to NSA staff at district, regional, and headquarters offices will no longer be accepted. The NSA is urging all stakeholders to comply with the new system, which supports Ghana’s broader ambition of transitioning towards a fully cashless economy.
