The remains of the New Juaben Omanhene, Daasebre Prof. Emeritus Oti Boateng and the Omanhemaa, Nana Yaa Daani will be interred today Monday, May 16, 2022 mid-night at a royal cemetery at Koforidua- Srodae. All the necessary traditional rites and customs for the burial are ongoing at the forecourt of the Palace. All roads leading to the palace were all blocked while the security personnel have been placed at vantage points of the town to control traffic to ensure a smooth burial.

As Akan tradition demands that nobody loiters around while a Chief or a King is beign buried, royal executioners have been placed at vantage points in the town to ensure compliance. All shops were closed except food vendors and drug store operators. Yesterday, the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu took his turn to file past the bodies and performed the necessary rites as Overlord of the Asante Kingdom. The Kwahumanhene, Daasebre Nana Akuamoah Agyepong will stand in for Otumfuo Osei Tutu for the burial this mid-night.

Daasebre Prof. Emeritus Oti Boateng and Nana Yaa Daani ascended the throne in 1992 and died last year August. They championed many development projects in the traditional area. Daasebre Oti Boateng will best be remembered of his root-based development project which is yielding a positive result in the region.
