First January is marked as New Year’s day worldwide. People celebrate the day with various activities including partying and going to the beach.
The road from GBC through Dankwa Circle to Osu which witnesses heavy traffic on a normal day was traffic free.
Vehicles which normally park on the shoulders of the road to pick passengers were also not in sight.
As at the time Radio Ghana got to the La Pleasure Beach, the entrance to the beach and car park which is usually choked with vehicles was virtually empty.
We saw management eagerly putting the place in order for revellers to have fun and enjoy their stay there.
Deputy Head of Security, Eric Yemo Tetteh said management has about fifty life guards on standby and other security personnel to ensure that revellers are well protected and their security assured.
Another observation was the citing of dustbins at vantage points to ensure that people do not litter the place.
The Administrator of La Pleasure Beach, Afutu Nikoi also assured the public of a clean and serene environment.
