Staff of the National Lottery Authority (NLA), have suspended their services from Monday, March 1, until further notice.

This follows attacks on staff and operators of the Lotto Marketing Companies (LMC) for non-payment of wins by the NLA.

Addressing the media in Accra, General Secretary of the Financial Business and Services Employees Union, Benjamin Mingle, said all attempts to meet with management to address the issue have proved futile hence the decision to direct all employees to withdraw their services in accordance with the Labour Act (2003), Act 651.

Local Chairman of the Union, Eric Tamakloe, appealed to winners of NLA lotteries to refrain from attacking staff of the Authority, as the staff cannot be blamed for non-payment of their wins.

Meanwhile, reports reaching GBC News indicates that the leadership of the NLA Union has been invited by the National Labour Commission for further discussions.
