Organizers of the up-coming Northern Ghana Development Summit are optimistic that a number of business deals would be reached by the close of the meeting. STAR-Ghana Foundation’s Programs Manager, Eunice Agbenedzi, disclosed this on the GTV Breakfast Show on November 23, 2021, where she asserted that the Forum would be a cut above the average.
”One most important thing the Forum seeks to achieve is to conclude the business forum with business deals, because most people leave Business Forums with lots of questions therefore, when there is a conclusion with a business deal, it will create opportunities for the participants”, she posited.
According to Madam Agbenedzi, there are real challenges in Northern Ghana, but the Summit would provide an avenue to rethink through the issues, and look at what could be done differently, through the building of synergies and strategizing through positive alliances and partnerships.
”There are a lot of challenges up North, it is hoped that the up-coming Summit will help to resolve some of the issues”, according to the STAR-Ghana Programs Manager.
The Northern Ghana Development Summit is an annual convening that brings together State and Non-State actors, including institutions and individuals onto one big non-partisan forum to assess, discuss and recommend actions to accelerate the progress of development of Northern Ghana to address the disparities in development between the North and the South of Ghana.The issues that are discussed at the summit are at the core of development and range from local economic development to participatory governance and violence prevention amongst other issues.
The 2021 Northern Ghana Development Summit would be held in Jirapa, in the Upper West Region from the 24th -26th November, 2021.
