Northern Youth and Mentors’ Achievers’ Awards: GTV’s Maltiti among winners

Maltiti Sayida Sadick is among over 10 young awardees awarded for their hard work in mentorship and youth development in Northern Ghana.

Maltiti who is a co-host of ‘GTV Breakfast Show’ was honoured for work she had done with the Authority as a journalist and mentor through her charity Organization Maltiti Care International (MCI).

The award was in the female Leadership category as a young achiever in the maiden youth mentorship and achievers’ awards by the National Youth Authority in Northern region.

The awards was organized in Tamale and in attendance was the CEO of the National Youth Authority Mr. Pius Enam Hadziede, Chiefs, Members from Civil Society Organizations among others.

The Awardees included, bankers, politicians, civil society members, youth activists, football stars, musicians, media personalities among others.

Maltiti in an interview with Kafui Dey on ‘GTV Breakfast Show’ on the award she picked up said young ones looking up to her should be persistent and work to change the status quo using her journey as one of the first female presenters to wear her Hijab on national television after her breakthrough on ‘The Next Tv star’ competition where she emerged 2nd place winner and proved that it was more about capability and delivery than about how different she looked, which for her represents how Muslim women are identified in the world.

Maltiti Sayida is a 2021 Mandela Washington Fellow. In 2019, she received the young promising female journalist award at the maiden edition of the Ghana Journalists Association awards in Northern region and in the same year, she received the Media Star Award by Hyperlink media awards.
