NPA outlines measures to ensure safety at LPG Refilling Plants

The PRO of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) Anny Osabutey says lessons drawn from the Atomic Gas explosion last year has helped in instituting stringent regulatory mechanisms to ensure safety at LPG refilling plants across the country.
In an interview on GBC’s Current Affairs Programme, ‘Behind the News’, he noted that measures have been taken to strengthened the capacity of its Field Officers to engage in monitoring and inspection.
The Acting Director of Operations at the Ghana National Fire Service, Joseph Forson, added that the service has intensified education on safety as part of measures to prevent a recurrence of such disaster.
He said, there has been considerable efforts at ensuring that LPG refilling plants comply with the law.
