Spokesperson for the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Aremeyaw Shuaib has asked Muslims to observe strict social distancing during this period of Ramadan.

He said this year’s Ramadan is more of a family congregation matter than mass congregation.

Sheikh Aremeyaw Shuaib asked that the directives of not congregating in large numbers should be followed.  The strict directives follow the COVID-19 epidemic.

Speaking to GBC’s Radio Ghana, Sheikh Aremeyaw Shuaib said the directive of not meeting in large numbers does not take away the essence of Ramadan, adding that, it does not also take away the blessings associated with the festive season.

He asked Muslims to continue to ensure good hygiene and eat a lot of fruits during this period.
