MP for North Tongu in the Volta Region, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has donated his two months salary to the eighty-seven National Service Personnel in the constituency as their allowances remain in arrears for three months.

Mr Ablakwa in a Facebook Post said the gesture being his salary for the months of January and February is a widow’s-mite contribution towards making life comfortable for the Service Personnel.

According to Mr Ablakwa, he wished he was in the position to do more to alleviate the plight of the personnel who gladly accepted posting to serve in the rural Constituency.

He appealed to the government to expedite action in paying all accumulated arrears due National Service Personnel countrywide. He contended that under no circumstance should the allowances of Service Personnel be left out anytime monthly wages of public sector workers are processed.
