Old Vandals Association supports inmates of Ho cured lepers

By Elorm Yao Aryee

The Volta Regional Chapter Of Old Vandals Association (OVA) has donated food items and used clothing to residents of the Cured Lepers Village in Ho to support their upkeep.

The food items, including frozen meats, crates of eggs, and tomato paste, among others, form part of the Association’s periodic donations to support the underprivileged in society.

The Vice President of the Volta Chapter of OVA,  Favour Randy Mottey noted that the items were mobilised through levies and contributions from members. He said the facility was selected because the residents, who are mainly cured lepers, need assistance to survive and pledged the Association’s commitment to do more.

Caretaker of the facility, Nelson Atito, thanked members of OVA Volta for the gesture and pledged to evenly distribute them to the residents.

He appealed to philanthropists and benevolent organisations to periodically assist the 48 cured Lepers at the place who depends largely on donations from the public.
