The Accra High Court has adjourned to October 21 to hear two applications filed by Convener of Fixthecountry Movement Oliver Barker-Vormawor urging it to strike out the bill of Indictment and charges against him.

His lawyers claim that his committal process at the Ashaiman District Court did not follow due process.

He is praying the court to strike out the two charges of treason felony against him for procedural error.

The Ashaiman District Court last August committed Mr Barker-Vormawor to stand trial at the High Court for treason felony. Mr Barker-Vormawor is accused of allegedly making posts on his social media accounts which endeavoured to usurp the executive powers of the state by advocating an overthrow of the Constitution.

The summary of evidence contained in the bill of Indictment indicates that the State will call three witnesses which include the complainant in the case and the Cyber Intelligence Lead at the Crime Unit of the Police CID.

Mr Barker-Vormawor was arraigned before the Ashaiman District Court last February 14 and was granted bail by the Tema High Court.
