The Omanhene of Lower Dixcove, Nana Kwesi Agyeman IX, has called on the Paramount Chief and sub-chiefs of Upper Dixcove to collectively work towards restoring peace in the area.
Nana Agyeman in a press conference indicated that together with his sub-Chiefs, he was willing to cooperate with any mediator to broker peace between his people and Obrepong Hima Dekyi XIV, Paramount Chief of upper Dixcove.
On Monday, March 13, the mother of Obrempong Hima Dekyi, her relatives together with a sub-chief from Upper Dixcove were attacked and injured at Turom.
Nana Agyeman said Turom was a peaceful and important area, so there was the need to find lasting solutions to the problems there.
He however condemned the incident and the use of Macho men to intimidate and harm people in the area.
The Paramount Chief reiterated that it was imperative for dialogue to enable the chiefs in both Upper and Lower Dixcove to discuss all maters to bring lasting peace to Dixcove and Ahantalands.
He said the area had been a peaceful one since time immemorial and that they should rather come together as one family to solicit for development projects, instead of fueling unnecessary disturbances.
