Comprehensive plans to be rolled out for Oti region to attract investors

The Oti Regional Coordinating Council is set to roll out comprehensive and sustainable development plans for the entire region.

To this end, the Regional Minister, Nana Kwasi Owusu Yeboah requested support from all stakeholders, especially chiefs, investors and opinion leaders to come onboard for accelerated developmental agenda.

He said there are juicy incentives such as Tax Holidays awaiting investors that would be coming to the region.

He said this in his address to the Chiefs from Ntrobo Traditional Area of the Nkwanta South Municipality and some investment consultants who paid courtesy call on him at his office at Dambai – the Oti regional capital.

The Ntrobo Chiefs led by Nana Tidibo Kowura Odamba II were the first organized Traditional Area to pay courtesy call on the Regional Minister of Oti after the new region’s inauguration.

The call was among other things to thank President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Ado and his government for creating and inaugurating the Oti region as well as congratulate the Regional Minister on his assumption of office as the historic minister for the newly created region.

The chiefs also spoke to the regional minister about the potentials and what their traditional area has to offer for the desired accelerated development of the Oti region.

They mentioned among other things, a large arable lands that they are willing to make available to the ORCC or any potential investor for agribusiness and other ventures.

The Ntrobo Chiefs also proposed the creation of a separate district for their Traditional Area as part of the region’s developmental agenda.

The chiefs therefore pledged their support for the regional minister and the ORCC for all the developmental agenda to be rolled out.

For his part, the regional minister thanked the Ntrobo Chiefs for also making history as the first organized traditional area that paid courtesy call on him since he assumed office.

The minister reiterated the President Akufo-Addo’s statement that: “Developmental activities of the new region would be spread across the region but not to be concentrated at only the regional capital”.

The Oti Regional Minister, Nana Kwasi Owusu Yeboah however, elaborated on some of his short to long term vision for the Oti region.

In the related development, a team of investment consultants led by Dr. Seth Ntiamoah also made a courtesy call on the Oti regional minister.

They briefed the minister about their scope of operations which includes; investment analysis, sourcing of finance for developmental projects, writing of proposals for developmental projects among others.

The regional minister welcomed them and assured them that the doors to his office and the ORCC are always opened to such developmental partners.

The minister also said, the ORCC would soon complete the setting of its developmental agenda and would then isolate the priority ones for such developmental partners to make a choice of their desire project to partner.

The Minister said the region would be opened to both local and foreign investments under strategies like; Build Operate Transfer (BOT), Build Own Operate Transfer (BOOT)Public, Private, Partnership (PPP), and Direct Private Investment (DPI), among others.

Nana Kwasi Owusu Yeboah also made mention of some projects that would be appearing on his priority list.
