Dr. Palgrave Boakye Danquah has joined Academic City University as an Adjunct Faculty Member, where he will teach a Leadership Seminar course to Level 200 students.
In a statement announcing his appointment, Dr. Boakye Danquah described the opportunity as a “humbling call to service” which he has accepted with gratitude and a deep sense of responsibility.
He clarified that his new role at Academic City is in addition to his full-time academic position at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), where he serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Business Administration.
At UPSA, he teaches courses including Corporate Governance, Public Administration, Leadership, Global Dimensions of Business and Ethics. He also undertakes academic and mentorship responsibilities, including leading the institution’s Practitioner’s Forum and Seminar Series on Leading Servanthood in a Postmodern Era.
Explaining his decision to join Academic City, Dr. Boakye Danquah said the university’s focus on STEM, innovation, entrepreneurship and ethical leadership aligns with his professional commitment to developing young people capable of contributing meaningfully to society.
He said his experience spans governance, security, ministry, academia and enterprise.
Dr. Boakye Danquah previously served as Government Spokesperson on Governance and Security and Technical Advisor at the Ministry of Information, where he said he gained experience in high-level government decision-making, including Cabinet briefs and national security coordination.
He is also Chairman of the Africa Institute on Governance and Security (AIGS) and Founding Executive Director of the Kandifo Institute, where he has worked with young people on policy, leadership and entrepreneurship.
Academically, he holds a Doctorate in Business Leadership from IPAG Business School in Paris, France, facilitated by Nobel International Business School. His doctoral research focused on Servant Leadership and Organizational Citizenship Behavior.
His academic background also includes an Executive Master’s in Conflict, Peace and Security from the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC), a Bachelor of Theology from Trinity Theological Seminary, and studies in Sociology and Psychology at the University of Ghana and Christian Apologetics at Oxford University.
Leadership beyond the classroom
Dr. Boakye Danquah says students taking his Leadership Seminar at Academic City should expect a practical and transformational learning experience rather than a conventional lecture.
He plans to use real-life cases from government, corporate boards and security situations to help students understand how leadership, corporate governance and public administration operate under pressure.
He will also introduce students to his approach to servant leadership, which he describes as a framework for combining empathy with measurable results.
Ethics will form another key component of the course, particularly in the context of artificial intelligence, global business and increasingly complex leadership challenges.
Students can also expect guest masterclasses, policy simulation labs, leadership clinics and discussions on failure, resilience and career development.
Beyond teaching, Dr. Boakye Danquah says he intends to use the opportunity to mentor and help prepare the next generation of Ghanaian and African leaders.
“I am not just coming to teach; I am coming to raise the next generation of Ghanaian and African leaders,” he said.
He expressed appreciation to the President and Management of Academic City University for the confidence reposed in him, as well as the Vice Chancellor and Management of UPSA for their continued support.
Dr. Boakye Danquah said he looks forward to meeting his new students and contributing to Academic City University’s mission of developing Africa’s future leaders.
