The Speaker of Parliament, Professor Mike Oquaye, has asked Members to work hard to deliver on their mandate.

He said when Parliament resumes, there will be a mechanism to curb absenteeism and monitor the MPs. Speaking to Radio Ghana, Professor Ocquaye maintained that although it is an election year, MPs will have to be in Parliament to take care of Parliamentary work as they also go about to canvass for votes.

He however indicated that absenteeism does not send good signals to the public about the seriousness of members towards the execution of their duties.
