Parliamentary Service Staffer supports Sea Erosion Victims

By Edzorna Francis Mensah

A Parliamentary Service Staffer, Assistant Director at Works and Projects Department, Emmanuel Kudah has contributed relief items to the Sea Erosion Victims at Dzita in the Anlo District of the Volta Region.

The relief items provided include Clothing, clothes, Shoes, Toiletries, Detergents, Sanitary Tissues, Rice, Cooking oil, and School Uniforms.

Mr. Kudah gave the items to the Dzita Community on 20th November 2021 in the presence of MP for Anlo, Richard Kwame Sefe and some of the affected people.

Mr. Kudah, accompanied by some of the Parliament Service Staff was grateful to the Speaker of Parliament, Clerk to Parliament and his colleagues for their support.

Emmanuel Kudah, a native of Dzita said, ” this was made possible through my staff members, they gave me all these things in support of my people”.

Mr. Kudah said he took the initiative to appeal to colleagues through the leadership of Parliament, following the sea erosion disaster that hit his people few weeks ago and, “as citizen of this town, where I had my basic education, I couldn’t control myself when pictures and videos of the situation were sent to me,” he noted.

About six communities, including Kporkporgbor, Anyanui, Atiteti, and Fuveme, all within the Anlo District are believed to be under threat, as a result of the Tidal Waves.

It is in line with this that the MP for the area, Richard Kwame Sefe called on the government to continue the Western Corridor Sea Defence Project which expands from Agblor-Torkor through Dzita to Fuveme towards Ada in the Greater Accra Region.

While thanking Mr. Kudah for the gesture, the MP also appealed to Anlo Citizens abroad to come to their aid.
