Parts of Accra to go off national grid for 7 hours each day

Some parts of the Greater Accra Region are likely to go off the national grid for about seven hours each day beginning Monday, June 8 to Thursday, June 11.

This is to make way for the Electricity Company of Ghana to carry out planned maintenance works to improve service delivery.

The power will go off from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

Areas affected by June 8 were Mallam Junction, Macarthy Hill, Tetegu, Weija Junction, Samoa Valley, Dansoman, Villagio, Adjiriganor, Haatso and West Legon.

Today, Sakaman, Mallam, Gbawe CP, Adabraka, North Legon, Berekuso, and Ogbojo will experience power cuts.

Other areas to be affected are Teshie, Tseaddo, Obosomase and Twumasiwaa Hospital.

On Wednesday, June 10, maintenance works will be carried out at Dobro, Medie, Hebron, Macedonia, Mallam and Madina Zongo.

The other areas are Macarthy Hill, Weija Junction, Tetegu, Firestone, Redco Flats, Abokobi and Teshie Chain Homes.

The final day of the planned maintenance works will take place in areas such as Taifa Burkina, Oyibi, Ablekuma Agape, Gbawe and SCC. Broadcasting Junction, Choice, Sasabi, Akropong Lartey, Apirede and  Larteh Junction will also be affected by Thursday’s works.

The ECG has apologised for any inconvenience residents and business owners in these areas will face due to the exercise.
