The National Peace Council (NPC), is developing an instrument to guide it to scientifically identify early warning signals.
This will help the Council institute interventions to prevent tensions from escalating into full-blown conflicts.
Executive Secretary of the NPC, Father Thadeus Kuusah, said this at a capacity building programme for staff and members in the Northern Region Peace Council in Tamale.
The programme funded by the Danish government through DANIDA seeks to equip participants with conflict management techniques, project management tools and report writing skills.
Father Thadeus Kuusah said early warning signals play an important role in peacebuilding.
